What is Opera Cashback?
Opera Cashback is a way for you to get money back when shopping. When you make a purchase in an online shop that is partnered with Opera, a percentage of the money you spend comes back to you as a reward, if certain conditions are met.

Who can join Opera Cashback?
Anyone can join Opera Cashback, if they are 18 years of age or older and have full legal capacity.

How do I start using Opera Cashback?
To get started with Opera Cashback, follow these simple steps:
- Visit cashback.opera.com, accept the Terms of Service and set up a FREE Opera account.
- If you already have an Opera account, sign in with your credentials to access Opera Cashback.
- Visit any of the shop pages on cashback.opera.com, then click the Start shopping button and make a purchase.
- If you are using Opera browser you will notice a "cashback" badge in the URL bar, make sure it is green while making the purchase; if the "cashback" badge is yellow, click on it and activate it.
For the best experience we recommend you to install the Opera Cashback extension - it will notify you if cashback is available in any online shop you visit.
If you use a browser other than Opera and haven’t installed the Opera Cashback extension, you can activate the cashback service from the Opera Cashback website (cashback.opera.com).
After creating your account, you will receive an email from Opera Software asking you to verify your email address and activate your account. If you cannot find the message, please check your spam folder. You can request an activation link via email here. After activating your Opera account, you can better secure your Cashback account by adding two-step verification and ensuring that the email provided in your account is correct.

Can I shop and collect cashback without an account?
You can shop and collect cashback rewards without creating an account - just select a shop you would like to make a purchase with, and the Opera Cashback page will ask you to either create an account or continue as a guest. If you choose to continue as a guest, you can collect cashback, but you will not be able to pay it out until you create an Opera account. With an Opera account, you will be able to review and access all the earnings you have obtained as a guest.
We recommend creating an Opera account before you start collecting cashback as it will provide a better and safer experience. Guest accounts should be used at your own risk, as clearing browser cookies may result in a loss of accumulated cashback earnings.

When will my transaction be approved?
After making a purchase using Opera Cashback, the transaction will be visible in your account with the status Pending.
Once Opera receives a confirmation from the merchant that the transaction was finalized, the status will change to Approved. The amount of time this takes will depend on the merchant. More details on waiting times are available on Opera Cashback page in each merchant’s profile.
If the transaction has status Rejected, you can click on Why was my cashback transaction rejected? to see what happened.

Why has a transaction not appeared in my account?
There are a few possible reasons for this:
- You have not activated your Cashback account yet
- You were not signed into your Cashback account while making the purchase
- You did not visit the merchant’s shop from the link on the Opera Cashback webpage
- You used another cashback service for your purchase
When making your next purchase, please follow the instructions in How do I make sure that I get cashback?
You can see which online shops you have visited through Opera Cashback by clicking your profile in the top-right and selecting the Shopping trips tab. You can also see on which visits a purchase with cashback was made.
If you have followed the instructions and the transaction was still not recorded, then there may be a delay. It can sometimes take up to 48 hours for a transaction to be recorded, so please check it again tomorrow or the next day.
If the transaction is still not visible after 48 hours, please contact us here. We will do our best to help you resolve the issue.

Why was my cashback transaction rejected?
This could be due to one of the following reasons:
- The transaction was canceled
- The purchase or reservation has been modified
- The purchase was not completed
- The purchase was returned
- There is a dispute with the merchant
- Another cashback service or extension was used
- You have used a promotion or discount code that is not compatible with the cashback service
- Violation of Cashback shopping rules. Please check our terms and conditions.

How do I withdraw cashback from my account?
Funds will be withdrawn by the system each time you reach at least €5 of approved cashback. Compensation is not included in this amount. The cashback will be automatically transferred to your default payout method, which you can add, select or update in the Payout section.

How do I make sure that I get cashback?
For the best experience, we recommend you to use the Opera browser or to install the Opera Cashback extension. Additionally, it is recommended that you:
- Use only Opera cashback. Ensure that you do not use other cashback services, browser extensions, ad blocking or tracking blocking software, VPN or incognito mode before entering the shop.
- Activate Cashback. Ensure that you are logged into your cashback account before accessing the merchant’s page, and access the shop through the link provided on the Opera Cashback page. When using Opera browser or the Opera Cashback extension, check that the cashback badge or icon is active (green) before making the purchase.
- Accept cookies. Accept cookies on the merchant’s page.
- Don’t use 3rd party promotion. Ensure that you do not enter a promotion or a discount code that is not compatible with the cashback service.
- Wait for confirmation. Once you have added items to your shopping cart, do not delay finalizing the transaction or payment. Once the transaction is completed, wait for the confirmation of your order on the merchant’s page before closing the tab or window.
- Don’t modify your order. Ensure that you do not cancel, modify or return your purchase and that you do not enter into a dispute with the merchant.
Your transaction should appear in your cashback account within a couple of hours, but in some cases it can take up to 48 hours.

How is my cashback calculated?
The amount of cashback that you receive for your purchase is different in each store. You can check the cashback percentage when selecting a store through the Opera Cashback platform.
The cashback reward is calculated from the final amount of your order, not including taxes, shipping costs or the cost of any additional services contracted.
The cashback reward for travel and accommodation reservations is calculated from the total price excluding insurance and ancillary services, as well as any commission charged by travel agency.
Each store may have specific conditions that need to be met to receive the cashback. You can see this information when selecting a store through the Opera Cashback platform.
New User rewards apply only if you are a new user in the store where you make the purchase, not if you are a new user in Opera Cashback.

I can't log into my account. What should I do?
First, clear your cookies on the login page.
If you have forgotten your password, simply visit here and click Forgot password? The application will ask you for your email address or username, and will send you a link allowing you to reset your password.

How can I delete my account?
We’re sorry to hear that you want to close your account. If you have any questions about Opera you can always rely on our support - contact us and we'll try to help you with any issue you have.
If you're sure you want to delete your account, log into the Opera Cashback service. Click your profile in the top-right corner, select Account settings, and click on delete your account at the bottom. After selecting this option, confirm your decision by clicking Delete account. This will delete your Opera Cashback service account, but your main Opera account will remain unchanged.
If you change your mind within 10 days of deleting your account, it can still be restored. In this case, please contact Customer support for assistance.
If your account has not been fully activated by confirming your email address, it is automatically deleted after 180 days of inactivity. For confirmed accounts, account deletion due to inactivity occurs after two years.
